No specifics about the plot have been revealed but the title - Avatar: The Seed Bearer - could be rather revealing.
Avatars legacy is complicated, but it is undeniably one of the most influential movies of the 21st century, thanks to its advancements in motion capture technology. New cast members Clement, Yeoh, Falco, and Thewlis are also expected to return for the third film in the Avatar franchise. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, learn the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. James Camerons Avatar is the most financially successful movie of all time, but Avatar: The Way of Water should not be expected to make nearly as much. A majority of the cast is expected to return, including Worthington, Weaver, Saldana, Ribisi, and Lang. Avatar 3 is being shot back-to-back with Avatar 2 and will release two years later in December 2023 with the rumored title Avatar: The Seed Bearer.
